Our primary roles are to provide crisis intervention, support and education; to make referrals to appropriate agencies; and to promote public awareness concerning sexual assault.
The Fort McMurray Sexual Assault Program works closely with community organizations to ensure the best possible service for survivors and their families.
Our services are provided with the utmost confidentiality. The following services are offered:
CRISIS INTERVENTION
Telephone or drop-in support and assistance designed to reduce both the incidence and trauma of sexual assault and assist in the survivor recovery. Emotional support is also available for families and friends of survivors.

COUNSELING
We provide individual intervention for survivors of sexual assault and abuse. We also offer individual intervention for the significant persons in the survivor's life (family, partner, etc.).
SELF-HELP GROUPS
AMAC (Adults Molested as Children) group: This group runs for an eight week period, meeting once a week.
EDUCATION/PREVENTION
The Fort McMurray Sexual Assault Program offers presentations to schools, service groups, community agencies and organizations.
CLIENT ADVOCACY
Clients are offered support through the justice system. This includes court preparation, and accompaniment to the hospitals, RCMP station, and court.
